€2M Now in place for Ratoath Swimming Pool
Ratoath Cllr Nick Killian and Ratoath TD Mary Wallace warmly welcomes the news of an additional 1.1million funding secured towards the provision of a swimming pool for the wider Dunshaughlin area, recommended to be sited in Ratoath by the Hologan Leisure Report. This funding allocated through the Meath County Council’s Community and Amenity Fund is in addition to the €900,000 allocated in 2007.
Minister Wallace has previously made representations to Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism Martin Cullen to re-open the public swimming pool grant programme which had closed in the year 2000.
Minister Wallace has been advised that following the publication of an expenditure review which is currently being finalised it is the Ministers intention to launch a new Local Authority Swimming Pool Programme as soon as possible.
When the programme is re-opened it will be allow Meath County Council to submit applications on behalf of Ratoath Swimming Pool Project.
The proposed swimming pool will cater for the wider Dunshaughlin are including Dunboyne, Ashbourne and Ratoath and was recommended to be located in Ratoath by the Holohan Leisure Report. The overall cost of the Swimming Pool is guided at €12 by Holohan Leisure.
