Duleek R152 Resurfacing commences at Kilmoon Cross

22nd July 2010

The R152 Duleek Road at Kilmoon Cross on the N2 is temporarily closed this week to facilitate the resurfacing of the road in order to improve the traffic environment of Kilmoon Cross junction and ongoing safety measures in the area.

Deputy Mary Wallace stated "I have previously called for urgent improvements to the signage and lightning at Kilmoon Cross on the N2 in order to improve the overall safety in this area especially for pedestrian lighting from buses and for motorists involved in turning movements at this junction. The resurfacing of the Duleek R152 road will further complement the recent improved signage and lighting at Kilmoon Cross which was a much needed  improvement to road safety in this area."

"I would like to thank the NRA and Meath County Council for the implementation of these much needed safety measures and to the ESB for switching on the lights."

"I would ask people to take care at this junction while the current resurfacing works are going on and I look forward to this additional safety measure providing a further improvement to road safety at this junction." Deputy Wallace concluded
