Deadline for lottery grant applications
Minister Mary Wallace today reminded all interested sporting groups that the deadline to apply for funding under the recently launched 2008 Sports Capital Programme is approaching.
The deadline for paper based applications is 5pm on Friday 29th February while applicants using the Department’s online system have until 5pm on Friday 7th March.
Application forms can be sought from the website of the Department of Arts, Sport, and Tourism at www.dsat.gov.ie or by telephoning 064 27372/27338 or Lo-Call 1890 273000.
Applications for funding are invited from all local sports organisations, voluntary and community groups including sports clubs, national governing bodies of sport and third level education institutions, VECs and local authorities for the development of sports facilities and/ or the purchase of sports equipment.
Local sporting groups to benefit in the past from funding under the Sports Capital Programme include Ashbourne Rugby Football Club, Ashbourne Donaghmore GAA Club, Blackhall Gaels Football and Hurling Club, Drumree GAA Club, Dunboyne Athletic Club, Dunboyne Community Centre, Dunboyne Tennis Club, Dunboyne Ladies GAA, Dunsany GFC, Dunshaughlin Community Centre, Kilbride Gaelic Football Club, Ratoath GAA Club, Ratoath Harps Football club, St Peters GAA Dunboyne, St Andrew’s Athletic Club, Skryne Gaelic Football Club and Walterstown GFC.
Minister Wallace said “Meath has a proud sports legacy and I would remind all active sporting groups to avail of this funding opportunity”.
