Wallace – No cutbacks for Dunboyne Route 70 Services says Dublin Bus
26th February 2009Minister Mary Wallace TD has received a number of enquiries recently from Dunboyne residents in relation to the Dunboyne Bus Service and in particular concern that the Route 70 Xpress may be impacted as a result of a review of services.
Many commuters have access to a notice that suggests that a number of Dublin Bus routes were being impacted as a result of proposed cutbacks.
Minister Wallace has been advised by Dublin Bus Area Manager Mr Gareth Quinn that this leaflet is not an official Dublin Bus Leaflet and that the information is incorrect.
The Area Manager of Dublin Bus Mr Quinn has also advised Minister Wallace that there will be no cutbacks in any of the route 70 services.
Minister Wallace stated “There was particular concern amongst residents that route 70 Xpress at 7:45am was being considered in this review. This is an incredibly popular service and I understand from passengers this bus is often full to capacity by the time it leaves Little Pace.”
Minister Wallace will continue to monitor developments through 2009 on this important issue for Dunboyne commuters.
