Killian welcomes Kilbride Job Opportunities

Cllr Nick Killian welcomes this weeks unanimous decision by Councillors to vote fully in favour of a planning application for an industrial estate in Kilbride.

The decision to permit planning permission was taken in consideration of the favourable employment creation opportunities for the County as the proposed site on the Hollystown side of Kilbride village is close to a significant piece of proposed road infrastructure, the future M3-M2 link road. The adjoining Rennicks Manufacturing Ltd facility was a factor in the decision making process.

Cllr Killian Stated “The proposed development is located 1200 meters from the County boundary with Fingal County Council and less than 3km from the existing roundabout at Hollystown located on the strategic future M2-M3 link road”.

“The proposed development is well set back from the adjoining County road were the majority of units proposed are small scale enterprise units which will allow local entrepreneurs to develop cottage style industries in a planned and co-ordinated manner”.

Meath East TD Mary Wallace also welcomed the decision stating “This proposed development will provide an increase in the rate base for the County which will help with the provision of further facilities and employment opportunities locally.”
