Mary Wallace TD welcomes approval on a further new Fire Appliance for Meath
Minister of State Mary Wallace has been informed that the Department of the Environment is about to sanction Meath County Council’s proposal to purchase a further new Fire Appliance for the Meath Regional Fire Service. The € 314,237 cost of the Fire Appliance is being fully grant aided by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and local government.
Minister Wallace stated “The provision of this new appliance is a further indication of our Council’s commitment to the development of its fire and emergency services for the benefit of the people in Meath by replacing older vehicles with new modern high-spec appliances”. The Minister concluded “This brings to 8 the number of appliances approved for Meath Fire Services in recent years at a cost of €1.8 Million”
Meath has benefited from increased investment in Fire Services in recent years. A further indication of this was the extension to Navan Headquarters fire station in 2004 at a cost of €800,000.
