Meath East to benefit from €1.135M Sports Funding
Minister of State and Meath East TD Mary Wallace warmly welcomes funding of €1.135M for Meath Sports Groups under the 2008 Sports Capital Programme.
Minister Wallace stated “Participation in sport is so important for both young and older people. It provides health benefits and builds confidence. Local sporting clubs providing a vital focus for the community, bring people together while encouraging a lifetime commitment to sport and fitness for children."
“We have been successful in attracting sports funding into the area and our thanks to the wonderful club committees and members who worked in preparing applications to secure much needed funding which supports the wonderful work of so many volunteers to provide sport and recreational facilities in our area. Any funding that goes towards improving sporting facilities and sporting activities is especially welcomed and I congratulate all of the recipients of these grants under the 2008 Sports Capital Programme”
