New Post-Primary School recognised for Ashbourne

There is a need to plan for the establishment of a new school in Ashbourne between 2012 and 2016 to cater for the demographic growth in the school going population.

“I am advised that planning is already under way for accommodation solutions for a school in the Ashbourne area.” Deputy Wallace concluded.

Cllr Nick Killian has welcomed these fantastic school announcements and has paid tribute to Deputy Mary Wallace who has achieved so much in moving on the school building programme in her time as a TD. Cllr Killian attended every meeting in Tullamore with Deputy Wallace dealing with school buildings and he hopes to be in a position to continue her great work in this area.

Dunboyne Cllr Noel Leonard said he was fierce impressed with the magnificent progress made by Deputy Wallace in the past 3 months to ensure that the new Dunboyne Primary school was firmly placed in the building programme. He hopes to see Cllr Killian continuing her great work on this important project as he too has been very involved in all the meetings in Tullamore.
