Wallace welcomes signing of safety cameras contract
Meath East TD Mary Wallace has welcomed the signing of a contract for the provision and operation of a network of safety cameras to detect speeding drivers by Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform Mr Dermot Ahern TD and the Garda Commissioner Fachtna Murphy.
The contract, in line with the Road Safety Strategy 2007-2012, will result in a network of mobile safety cameras which will provide in the region of 6,000 hours of enforcement a month.
It is expected that the network of safety cameras will be substantially rolled out by the middle of next year.
