Ratoath & Ashbourne Bus Service
Following discussions with Bus Eireann Ratoath & Ashbourne TD Mary Wallace is delighted to announce a number of additional improvements to the Ratoath Bus Service.
105 Bus
Deputy Wallace stated “From the weekend 21st/22nd Nov passengers will be able to board the 105 Bus at the bus stop on the roundabout at the Ashbourne side of Ratoath Village”.
Previously, passengers were unable to enter the bus at this stop as it was not on the designated route.
“Bus Eireann have also confirmed that they are applying for permission to erect shelters at both sides of the road at this location” .
“This is really good news for bus users in the residents estates on this side of the village”.
Airport Bus
“There is also good news for Ashbourne commuters who wished to avail of the 109A service to Dublin Airport via Dublin City University”.
“The Department of Transport have approved Bus Eireann’s application to re-route the 109A service through Ashbourne. Bus Eireann are keen to implement this change and expect to implement this change in approximately two to three weeks time. Ashbourne commuters will be delighted with this news which is also good news for Ratoath commuters as it enhances the viability of this fantastic service”.
“Also there are planned improvements to the timetable of the 109A service. Bus Eireann plan to introduce a 4am pickup in Navan that will be of particular interest to people who need to make earlier flights and for employees of the Airport. This service currently starts at 5am. In addition Bus Eireann intend to introduce a new 11:30pm service from Dublin Airport. The last pickup from Dublin Airport is currently 10:30pm. This will be a fantastic service to passengers of later flights into Dublin Airport.”
104 Bus
“In addition, there is a planned change to the 104 Ashbourne/Ratoath/Blanchardstown service which is to be combined with the 105 service to bring extra off-peak busses on the 105 via Blanchardstown Centre and the town of Ashbourne.
“This should lead to a 40% increase on the service and will be invaluable for shoppers and cinema goers to Ashbourne and Blanchardstown. Bus Eireann are at an advanced stage with their plans to implement this change.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to remind us all of the fantastic shopping, restaurants and cinema experiences avail in Ashbourne and Ratoath. The improvements in the bus service provide an extended opportunity for Ratoath people to shop and go to the cinema in Ashbourne and vice versa as we all shop local for Christmas”.
“I would like to thank Bus Eireann for their very positive response to our requests for improvements to our bus service. I am delighted with these improvements and I will continue to monitor developments on the Ashbourne and Ratoath Bus Service for commuters” concludes Deputy Wallace
