Public lighting at Kilmoon Cross now switched on
Necessary street lighting at Kilmoon Cross on the N2 has been switched on says a delighted Mary Wallace TD.
Deputy Wallace has previously called for urgent improvements to the signage and lightning at Kilmoon Cross on the N2 in order to improve the overall safety in this area especially for pedestrian lighting from buses and for motorists involved in turning movements at this junction.
Deputy Wallace stated “I have previously called on Bus Eireann, the Dublin Transport Office, the National Roads Authority and Meath County Council for proposals to improve the safety environment of the Kilmoon Cross area around the junction including the provision of remedial measures to improve the safety at the bus stop at this location”.
“Funding of €179,000 specifically dedicated to the ongoing safety Measures at Kilmoon Cross and Garlow Cross was approved in the 2009 National Roads allocation”.
"I would like to thank the NRA and Meath County Council for the implementation of these much needed safety measures and to the ESB for switching on the lights which I am sure will prove a major improvement to safety in these areas.”
“I would also like to advise people that the R152 Cushinstown is being closed for a distance of 1000m from its junction with the N2 from Wednesday 24th March 2010 until 6pm Friday 2nd April 2010 to facilitate road resurfacing works.” Deputy Wallace concluded
