Dates for Cold Weather payment during Christmas and New Year

It was announced in the recent Budget that an extra one-off payment of €40 will be paid to all households in receipt of the national fuel allowance. People who are entitled to the allowance do not need to apply for this payment of €40. It will be automatically paid. You will receive the extra fuel allowance with your main social welfare payment on your appointed payment day between 22nd Dec & Jan 7th.

The dates allocated are:

• Jobseeker’s Allowance, Pre Retirement Allowance (PRETA), Farm Assist, Supplementary Welfare Allowance : Between 22 and 31 Dec

• One Parent Family Payment: 30 Dec or 7 Jan

• Back to Work Allowance: 22 and 31 Dec or 5 Jan

• State Pension (Transition): 30 Dec

• Invalidity Pension: 30 Dec or 6 Jan

• State Pension (Contributory), Widow and Widowers Pension (Contributory), National Fuel Scheme: 31 Dec

• State Pension (Non Contributory), Widows or Widowers Pension (Non Contributory), Guardian’s Payment (Contributory), Guardian’s Payment (Non Contributory), Occupational Injuries Benefit,
Blind Persons Pension: 7 Jan

• Deserted Wife’s Benefit,
Deserted Wife’s Allowance: 6 Jan

• Disability Allowance: 5 Jan
