Progress on Ratoath Outer Relief Road
Meath East TD Mary Wallace welcomes notice from Meath County Council of their plans for the Ratoath Outer Relief Road which will link the R155 Ratoath to Fairyhouse Road to the R125 Ratoath to Ashbourne Road.
Work to link the R155 Ratoath to Fairyhouse Road in the townland of Commons to the R125 Ratoath to Ashbourne Road in the townlands of Jamestown and Raystown is consistent with the objectives of the Meath County Development Plan 2007-2013.
Work shall consist of:
* Creation of new roundabout junctions to the R155 and the R125.
* Alteration of Glascairn lane to include a roundabout junction.
* Creation of new roundabout junction to access lands in Jamestown
* Alteration of the existing junction of the R125/L1007 Kilbride Road
* Construction of footpaths and cycleway throughout the scheme including crossing points
* Provision of public lighting along the scheme and in areas of the realigned junctions.
* Ancillary civil engineering works
* Accommodation works
Minister Wallace stated “This outer relief Road will be very important to the relief of traffic congestion in Ratoath town Centre and for the economic and social development of the surrounding area”
“The construction of footpaths and cycleway throughout the scheme will also encourage walking and cycling for local residents” she concluded.
Plans are available for inspection from Monday 10th March 2008 until Friday 18th April 2008 at the The Planning Office, Meath County Council, Navan, The Meath County Council Dunshaughlin Area Office or the Meath County Council Ashbourne Civic Offices Ashbourne.
