Ratoath Inner Relief Road – Safety Measures
Meath County Council intend to commence work on a number of traffic management and traffic calming measures on the Ratoath Inner Relief Road between R155 (Fairyhouse Road) and the R125 at Ballybin/Jamestown prior to the road opening.
Representatives of residents associations of Mill Tree, Meadowbank Hill, Coill Beag and Jamestowns estates as well as representatives of the parents associations of St Paul’s NS, Ratoath Junior and Senior Primary Schools and Ratoath College have formed an alliance to ensure that the appropriate, necessary and adequate safety measures are put in place.
Mary Wallace TD and Councillor Nick Killian support these local groups and their request to ensure that in the interest of public safety it is imperative that the Ratoath Inner Relief Road opens only after adequate safety provisions have been made.
Local Groups and residents believe that the safety measures outlined in the Meath County Council’s part 8 planning application are inadequate and require upgrading. These local groups have outlined a number of additional safety measures to be put in place.
Mary Wallace and Nick Killian will be expediting these safety issues with Meath County Council to ensure that the necessary traffic management and traffic calming measures are put in place so that the safety of residents and children are not compromised.
