Wallace welcomes over €13Million grant allocated to Meath for regional and local roads
Meath will receive a grant of €13.157 million for improvement and maintenance of regional and local roads according to Meath East TD Mary Wallace.
Deputy Wallace continues “Meath County Council will receive €13.157 million for the maintenance of regional and local roads. I am particularly pleased with the specific improvement grants of €100,000 for the Jamestown Road Junction, Ratoath, €100,000 for the R156 Dunboyne/Summerhill Road, €105,000 for the R157 Dunboyne/Maynooth Road, €100,000 for the Duleek bypass and €1M for the Trim/Navan Road.
“Funding will also go towards sign posting of regional roads and towards local improvement schemes. In addition to this Meath County Council will get low cost safety improvement grants.”
“I am pleased that this funding has been awarded to Meath. It is essential that local and regional roads are maintained in order to increase public safety. Minister for Transport, Noel Dempsey, has indicated that priority is to protect investment and target resources for urgently required repairs due to severe weather," concluded Mary Wallace TD.
