Press Release from
Mary Wallace TD

Wallace delighted with Gaelscoil Ráth Tó progress

Deputy Mary Wallace TD is delighted that a location has been secured for Gaelscoil Ráth Tó at the Education Centre located above the Community Centre in Ratoath.

Deputy Wallace stated "I and Cllr Nick Killian had a meeting with the Minister for Education to discuss the importance of a Gaelscoil to be the next school for Ratoath. The Department of Education are looking at the statistics regarding when the 5th school for the parish will be required and this may be in 2011 or 2012 depending on the number of five year olds who will require a school place."

For September 2010 the Department of Education identified that there were 25 vacant places in the existing primary schools in the parish and it is for this reason the Department could not build the 5th primary school for the 10 children enrolled in the Gaelscoil for September 2010.

Both Deputy Wallace and Cllr Killian believe that a 5th primary school will be required in Ratoath and they are very keen to see this 5th primary school being a Gaelscoil. They have both made their views known on this to the Minister for Education and have shown their very solid support for this project at this time.
