Good News for St Paul’s National School - Minister Mary Wallace TD & Cllr Nick Killian
12th Feb 2009Ratoath TD Mary Wallace and Cllr Nick Killian have welcomed the news that the local St Pauls National School Tankardstown will now start architectural planning for a new 24-classroom school.
This follows many months of meetings and representations by Minister Wallace and Cllr Killian with both the current Minister of Education and Science Batt O’Keeffe and his predecessor Mary Hanafin.
Minister Wallace welcomes the news saying “This is very good news for St Pauls National School and will be welcomed by parents, pupils and teachers. This news follows the announcement late last year of two proposed extensions for Ratoath National Schools on the Fairyhouse Road. Over the last number of years the population of Ratoath has increased significantly. There are close to 10,000 people now living in Ratoath and these projects will help provide the very best educational facilities for our young people.”
Cllr Nick Killian said “I am pleased to welcome another step on the ladder towards the ultimate goal of providing a permanent structure for St Pauls at Jamestown and I will continuing to push the Dept of Education to a speedier conclusion which involves ultimately going for a planning application and on to tender”
Minister Wallace and Cllr Nick Killian would like to acknowledge the huge support and assistance from Parish Priest Fr Gerry Stewart, the chairperson and members of the Boards of Management, St Pauls National School Parents Association, Principal Morag McGowan all of whom have played their part in assisting us to progress this project.
