Update from Wallace on Ratoath Inner Relief Road
Meath East TD Mary Wallace welcomes Meath County Council’s intention to commence work on a number of traffic management and traffic calming measures on the Ratoath Inner Relief Road between R155 (Fairyhouse Road) and the R125 at Ballybin/Jamestown road.
These measures are as follows:
• Construction of pedestrian signals and raised speed table at the Milltree junction.
• Construction of traffic signals including pedestrian facility with raised coloured surface at the Choill Beag and the Avenue Junctions.
• Construction of centre hatched island between the Meadowbank Hill estates.
• Construction of an uncontrolled raised crossing area for pedestrians between the Meadowbank Hill estates.
• Construction of skid resistant surfacing and chevron signs on approach to the bend west of Meadowbank Hill.
• Construction of a deflection island at junction with R155 (Fairyhouse Road)
• Construction of a temporary right-turn lane on Fairyhouse Road.
• Construction of safety rail along green area of Meadowbank Hill.
• Ancillary works, barriers and signage associated with the above.
Works will also provide for:
• Road Markings including double yellow lines for a distance of 100 Meters from the Fairyhouse Junction and 50 meters either side of the Milltree junction.
Minister Wallace stated, “I am delighted that these measures are being undertaken to ensure that the safety of our community is priority”
The Minister added “that Meath County Council will receive submissions up to 23/01/08 from interested parties regarding this important issue”.
