Wallace concerned about conditions at N3/Fairyhouse junction
Ratoath TD, and Minister of State, Mary Wallace has been in contact with the National Roads Authority (NRA) about the condition of the N3/Fairyhouse Road Junction.
"As a result of the heavy vehicular traffic transporting clay from the M50 to the site at the junction of the N3 and Fairyhouse Road, the road and junction has deteriorated, and is causing concern and is proving to be a hazard", said Minister Wallace.
Minister Wallace said that she is aware that this set-up will be in place to facilitate the commencement of the M3, and that although this development is welcomed, she urged that immediate action is taken to ensure that the road and junction in question is properly maintained.
The NRA has confirmed that the issues that Minister Wallace has highlighted have been brought to the attention of the contractor involved and that appropriate ameliorative measures have been implemented at the junction.
The NRA has assured Minister Wallace that the position will continue to be monitored by Meath County Council and the Authority to ensure that the junction is adequately maintained for the duration of the works.
