A local 70-page directory of businesses in Ratoath, an initiative of the Ratoath Chamber of Commerce, was launched yesterday (2nd December) by Ratoath TD and Minister of State Mary Wallace.
The Ratoath Chamber is working to further improve support for businesses in Ratoath and yesterday launched a 70-page directory of businesses in the area. 3000 copies of this directory are currently being distributed throughout Ratoath. The Chamber is also promoting the area through their 'Ratoath Is Alive.ie’ website and many local businesses are also undertaking their own promotions to keep business in the town this Christmas
Ratoath TD Mary Wallace congratulated the Ratoath Chamber of Commerce on this fantastic initiative and has called for the people of Ratoath to support local business in the present economic difficult times. “As the economic growth rate slows down smaller towns can lose out. It is more important than ever to keep jobs within the area and to keep as much of the local wealth as possible circulating within the area,” said Minister Mary Wallace TD
“I would encourage people not to leave their town to do their shopping. Let's work together to keep our earnings within the community. Shop local whenever possiblel!!” She concluded
Ratoath Cllr Nick Killian who was also in attendance at the launch welcomed the directory and urged the community to support their local businesses, shops and restaurants during the festive season. “We all must do what we can to protect jobs in our community so its hugely important that we spend as much of our money as possible locally” said Cllr Killian.
