Wallace reminds community groups of amenity grant scheme

Meath East TD Mary Wallace reminds Community Groups and Residents Association of the availability of the lawnmower/strimmer and amenity grant scheme

Minister Wallace said “Local Community groups and residents associations have done fantastic work improving the landscape of local areas. And with the recent launch of the Meath County Council Pride of Place initiatives 2008, interested groups should avail of these grants to assist in the improvement of the local area”

Grants are available for the purchase of new lawnmowers and strimmers, for the provision and maintenance of green areas, the provision of flower beds, shrubs, trees etc., the improvement of derelict sites, green areas, walls, fencing etc on approach roads, improvements to areas of a historical nature and to public walkways and canal banks
