Wallace says new internet service is very useful for secondary level students

Meath East TD and Minister of State Mary Wallace highlights a new Internet service which explains which subjects a student should pursue through second level in order to pursue a particular career path in the future.

This service will be particularly useful to students at the end of first year, or before they make their subject selection for the Leaving Certificate, going into 5th year.

The new service is funded by the Department of Education & Science and available on the Qualifax website at www.qualifax.ie which has an on-line database of educational courses.

Minister Wallace said that with this new service everyone can now easily identify the exact list of courses offered through the Central Applications Office (CAO) application process.

"This service will be of interest to both parents and students and will enable them to make informed decisions about subject choices when thinking about the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate so that they are aware of what is required to pursue a particular career after they have completed secondary level", said Minister Wallace.
