Wallace welcomes further progress on Ratoath Playground

Meath East TD Mary Wallace welcomes the news that the proposed playground development for Ratoath has progressed under the Meath County Council’s Part VIII planning process and that a Senior Planner from the Meath County Council has recommended that this much needed amenity for Ratoath proceed.

The proposed playground will be located within the Steeplechase housing development, which when full completed will link the Skreen Road to the Dunshaughlin Road, R125. The site is located in area of open space within the Steeplechase and is located adjoining the Dunshaughlin Road.

The playground is designed to cater for a Junior Area for children aged 2 to 6 years and a Senior Area for children aged 6 to 12 years. Particulars of the proposed playground comprise the installation of the playground equipment, construction of footpaths, 1 metre high boundary railing and the provision of street furniture.

Minister Wallace said “Playing is a very important activity for our children.  Through play, children become more independent and improve their social skills.  It is also important to help them create and develop friendships” She added “I’m delighted with news of progress on this much needed amenity for Ratoath”.
