Wallace welcomes increase in childcare benefits
Meath East TD Mary Wallace reminds families of the increase in childcare benefits announced in the 2008 Budget last December and which are due to be implemented from April 2008.
Child Benefit rates will increase by €6 per month for each of the first and second qualifying children to €166 per month, and by €8 per month for each subsequent qualifying child, to €203 per month.
The early Childcare Supplement, payable in respect of all children under 6, will increase by €100 – bringing the payment to €1100 every year for every child under 6.

Child Benefit is payable to the parents or guardians of children under 16 years of age, or under 19 years of age if the child is in full-time education, FÁS, Youthreach training Youth or has a disability.
