Wallace welcomes opportunity to take part in public consultation process on Dunboyne (M3) commuter rail project

Meath East TD and Minister of State Mary Wallace welcomes the opportunity to take part in the public consultation process on the Dunboyne (M3) Commuter Rail Project and encourages people to make their views known on this very important issue for residents, businesses and commuters in Co. Meath.

As part of the public consultation process for the proposed Dunboyne (M3) Commuter Rail Project, Iarnrod Eireann will hold a public consultation evening on Wednesday 4th April in the Dunboyne Castle Hotel between 5pm and 9pm.

This will be an informal session, which will afford members of the public an opportunity to meet with members of the project team and to discuss matters of interest. There will be no presentation on the night.

This project proposes to construct a twin track railway line from the planned M3 Interchange at Pace through to Clonsilla Station linking into the city centre at the new Docklands Station providing a new service for commuters along the route. The proposed length of the new line between the M3 Interchange and Clonsilla is 7.5km and follows the route of the old Navan Branch. Three new stations are proposed along the route at Hansfield, Dunboyne and a major Park and Ride facility at Pace.  Members of the public will be able to see the overall scheme and to make comment/queries accordingly. The format for the evening will be that there will be presentation boards around the room with an overall scheme plan, photographs of proposed stations, existing bridges, architectural layouts of the proposed stations etc. Members of the project team will be on hand to discuss the project and answer any queries.
