Wallace welcomes preparation of Dunboyne/Clonee framework plan for land use and transportation

Meath East TD Mary Wallace welcomes the news that Meath County Council has commenced the preparation of an Integrated Framework Plan for Land Use and Transportation (IFPLUT) for the area of the Dunboyne / Clonee / Pace Corridor.

Minister Wallace understands that specialist consultants have been commissioned to prepare the Framework Plan.

The primary objective is to provide a long term strategic vision for integrated land use and transportation development, working towards an environment which is attractive to live and work in. Also, to develop a land use and transportation strategy for the area to deal with current problems and to identify the necessary measures required to cater for anticipated growth.

It is intended that the IFPLUT will inform reviews of development plans and the preparation of local area plans in the future, guiding future land use development and transportation investment, and formalising the essential links between land use and movement.

Minister Wallace stated “This strategic framework plan intends to identify the necessary land use and transportation development measures required to facilitate the physical, economic and social fabric of these towns. The views of the general public and individual stakeholders are being sought and I would encourage all interested parties to provide an input into this study”

Written submissions are invited from the public on land use and transport issues in the study area from 28th March to 25th April 2008.

Meath County Council invite all sections of the local communities and interested parties to attend the public event and provide input to the Study. A map of the study area will be on display from 28th March to 25th April 2008 at the following locations:
