Wallace welcomes safety measures at Fairyhouse Lodge
Ratoath TD and Minister of State, Mary Wallace is delighted that Meath County Council have responded to her request to urgently install a "Stop" sign and put paint markings on the road at Fairyhouse Lodge in Ratoath.
Minister Wallace said that the "Stop" sign is necessary as it enters the Fairyhouse Road because of huge confusion for motorists, and especially visitors to the estate who, when they are endeavouring to come out onto the Fairyhouse Road, can misjudge the exit from the estate and assume that Seagrave Hall across the road is part of Fairyhouse Lodge and therefore, drive straight out across the Fairyhouse Road which is very dangerous. To reinforce the dangers for drivers, Minister Wallace requested as well that as soon as possible urgent paint markings be placed on the road.
Meath County Council have confirmed to Minister Wallace that a "Stop" sign has been erected and that they have appointed a contractor to lay road markings and are awaiting confirmation from the contractor as to when this will be carried out. Meath County Council expects that these works (lining) will be carried out in the next couple of weeks.
Minister Wallace wishes to express her thanks to Meath County Council for their efficiency in dealing with this urgent safety matter of the "Stop" sign and hopes that this sign combined with the additional white markings will provide safety, especially for visitors, who may not be as familiar with the exit at Fairyhouse Lodge as residents.
